INTERVIEW WITH SOUND DESIGNER

Me: What do you believe is the most important aspect for creating the opening music? Was it difficult, especially for such an unusual film?

Sound Designer: Most importantly, the sound has to be absolutely simultaneous, otherwise it will not make sense to the audience. A mood has to be set for them to understand how they can interact with the situation. You cannot have sad music above a very happy scene, it will confuse the audience. The movie is unusual yes, but we went about creating the sound as we would in any other movie. It was a relatively easy process. The main idea was that the audience had to be able to communicate this. The transition of the sound was the most important element.

Me: What about foley sounds? Were they an important aspect of creating the sound?

Sound Designer: Oh, yes! Definitely! They are one of THE most important aspects. You need to know what is going on around the actors, if it is noisy or quiet. They enchance the mood a lot more and set the tone. You cannot have the actor outside in a busy road and have no foley sounds of cars, people etc. It's unusual. They are one of the main aspects which need to be considered when creating a soundtrack.

Me: I see, thank you for your time and be sure to follow up what is happening with the release of '2 FACED'!
